The program does not update the ModifiedBy field after you assign a Customer Service case in Microsoft CRM 1.2 
 

SYMPTOMS

After you assign a Microsoft Business Solutions CRM Customer Service case in Microsoft CRM 1.2, the program does not update the ModifiedBy field.

This problem occurs when you assign a case to a user or to a queue. The problem occurs when you assign the case by using any one of the following modules:

The Microsoft CRM Web client

Microsoft Business Solutions CRM Sales for Outlook (the Outlook client)

The Microsoft CRM Workflow Service

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft CRM service pack that contains this hotfix.

To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix.

Installation information

Apply this hotfix on computers that are running Microsoft CRM 1.2 Server.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites to apply this hotfix.

Removal information

To remove this hotfix from a computer that is running one of the following operating systems, use the Add or Remove Programs tool in Control Panel:

Microsoft Windows Server 2003

Microsoft Windows XP

Microsoft Windows 2000

If you are an administrator, you can use the Spunist.exe tool to remove this hotfix from a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, or Windows 2000. The Spuninst.exe utility is located in the %Windir%\$NTUninstallKB909288$\Spuninst folder.

Restart requirement

If you are prompted, restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.
