After you save a Microsoft CRM form that contains a product with a quantity of zero, you receive an "Invalid Quantity" error message, or an incorrect value appears in the "Extended Amount" column

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft Business Solutions CRM 1.2, you create a quote, an invoice, an order, or an opportunity. In the Quantity box for a product, you specify a quantity of zero (0). When you try to save the form, one of the following problems occurs:

If you click Save, you receive the following error message:

The following error occurred: Invalid Quantity.

If you click the Save and Close button, the value that appears in the Extended Amount column of the form is not based on zero as you expect. For example, a quote form displays information that is similar to the following.

Product

Price Per Unit

Quantity

Extended Amount

Bicycle part

$100.00

0.00000

$100.00

CAUSE

This problem occurs if you perform the following procedure:

1.

You specify a non-zero value in the Quantity box for a product, and then you click Save.

2.

You specify a value of zero (0) in the Quantity box for that product.

3.

You click Save, or you click the Save and Close button.

When this problem occurs, Microsoft CRM does not recalculate the value for the product. Therefore, you receive the error message, or the program displays an incorrect value in the Extended Amount column of the form.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update.
